Going DSLR aka RIP S5000

Well My humble (borrowed) Fuji S5000 finially died of old age so I've been out shopping.
Couldn't afford much but got myself a DSLR.
My first DSLR is a Sony Alpha 230 + 75-300mm tele lens.
Youch this photography lark is expensive, ended up paying £512 for this package.
Now I need to get out and make full use of it.

s'cool, but I'm afraid I don't understand alot of the 'tech' desktoppy stuff - I'm mostly pencil n paper, with the occasional blind fumble around in photoshop
